Girls Aloud vs. Benny Benassi – Satisfaction On The Metro (Seb Sharp’s Mashup)

girls-aloud-tenA late Christmas present for a friend in Brisbane (the awesome @carnalfire on the Twitters) – he noticed the riff of Girls Aloud – On The Metro was very similar to the Benny Benassi track ‘Satisfaction’ and asked me to have a go at making a mashup for him. It took about a week for me to work out where the parts would best fit together but I’m pretty happy with it now that it’s done. Enjoy.

Eurythmics vs. Madonna – Frozen Dreams (Seb Sharp’s Annie Botox Mashup)

Made in 2010 for a drag show – the performer needed something that was ‘dark and cold’ to perform at a winter ball. I took the acapella and the Victor Calderone remix  of ‘Frozen’ and used elements of Steve Angello’s fantastic remix of ‘Sweet Dreams’ to create ‘Frozen Dreams’. This has been performed in a couple of shows and was played in a closing set by one of my favourite Australian DJs Alex Taylor. Not bad for an afternoon’s work! Download (right-click link and ‘save as’)

Fergie vs. Nine Inch Nails – 9 Inches For Fergie (Seb Sharp’s Auxilliary Clinton Mashup)

Made in 2009 after a friend brought over some NIN loops and instrumentals. I rearranged the structure of the verse to create more of a build in the second half. Played this out at venues and it’s received a pretty good response. (Yes, I know I ruined NIN, sacrilege, how dare I, blah blah blah.) Download (right-click link and ‘save as’)

Sidney Samson vs. Michael Jackson – Thrillerside

Another production from 2009, this was made as a tribute to Michael Jackson. ‘Thriller’ has always been one of my favourite tracks and here I mashed it up with ‘Riverside’ by Sidney Samson as well as parts of ‘Billie Jean’ and ‘Smooth Criminal’. This is an edit of the original 10 minute version I made to play out at venues. Download (right-click link and ‘save as’)
